The Senior Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving data-centric projects from inception to completion. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and utility of data across the project lifecycle, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
What you’ll be doing:
Client Engagement & Project Initiation
- Lead client engagement sessions to clarify project objectives, data requirements, and deliverables.
- Act as the primary point of contact for data-related queries throughout the project.
Data Acquisition & Preparation
- Oversee data receipt and back book copy processes, ensuring secure and accurate data transfer.
- Conduct data readiness assessments to evaluate the quality and completeness of incoming datasets.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary to standardise definitions and facilitate stakeholder understanding.
Data Modelling & Transformation
- Design and implement robust data models that support analytical and reporting needs.
- Lead data cleansing and validation activities to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Define cohorts and rulesets for segmentation, analysis, and reporting.
- Document and address data quality issues, maintaining a log and driving resolution actions.
Testing & Calculator Support
- Develop detailed data testing specifications to validate data flows and transformations.
- Provide calculator support and monitoring, ensuring calculation logic is correctly implemented and results are accurate.
Data Architecture & Alignment
- Produce clear data architecture specifications to guide technical implementation.
- Facilitate cross-functional data alignment by collaborating with IT, business, and analytics teams to ensure consistency and integration.
ETL & Transformation
- Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) models to automate data ingestion and processing.
- Design and execute transformation logic, ensuring business rules are accurately reflected in the data pipeline.
- Oversee calculator processing to support business calculations and reporting.
Data Repatriation & Ongoing Support
- Lead data repatriation planning and execution, ensuring data is returned or integrated as required post-project.
- Provide ongoing support and refinement if retained post-project, continuously improving data processes and outputs.
Location: Remote
Hours: 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday
Duration: Initial 3 Month Contract - likely to extend.
