Financial Crime Compliance Specialist - London

A fantastic opportunity for a financial crime compliance specialist to work for a London based company in the financial services industry.

We are looking for a Financial Crime Compliance Specialist with demonstrable experience in the field. 

Hybrid working - 1-2 days on site in central London 

The salary on offer is £80,000-£90,000 on a 12 month contract. 

Suitable candidates will need extensive experience in financial services compliance.

As a Financial Crime Compliance Specialist, you will:

  • Working as part of a virtual Compliance Team to provide oversight of all Integration Program work streams, to ensure that Conduct, Financial Crime, Privacy and Treasury risks as identified and mitigated e.g. Organisational Design, SMR Framework and Accountabilities etc.
  • Defining and oversighting implementation of a governance model for the oversight o by the Banks Compliance and Treasury ensuring clarity on corporate governance and Compliance reporting requirements for 1st, and 2nd Line.
  • Working with the compliance team to Conduct Policies and Standards, and to identify any necessary Dispensations, Waivers, or Breaches required.  Oversighting proposals and action plans from the First Line to address any identified gaps.
  • Providing thought leadership to the Compliance function on acquisition activity, and driving solutions  to support the continued embedment of the Business Oversight Compliance (BOC) Target Operating Models (TOM).
  • Proving oversight, guidance and escalation on complex/high profile issues relevant to the acquisition and oversight and ensuring appropriate visibility of risks and issues within Compliance.
  • Defining and implementing an approach for any Day 1 reporting requirements to ensure robust corporate governance is in place.  Undertaking necessary actions to ensure required reporting of Conduct, Financial Crime, Data Privacy and Treasury Compliance Risks into the Banks and Group Compliance is delivered.
  • Completing a review of Compliance owned Enterprise Process Taxonomy. Reviewing and developing an overall integration plan for the Compliance processes to determine impacts and actions required for acquisition completion and post completion.

In order to be considered for this role you must have the following skills: 

  • A broad knowledge and understanding of compliance activities and understanding of FCA rules and guidance in relation to retail banking. The activities will span across Conduct, Financial Crime, Data Privacy, Technical and Treasury Compliance.
  • An understanding of Mortgage products and services and typical customer issues surrounding them would be advantageous.
  • Experience of communication with regulatory organisations, providing them with complete and accurate information when requested.
  • A sound understanding of management reporting and governance requirements in a regulated financial services organisation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with an ability to influence across a variety of businesses and functions at all levels of the organisation.
  • Extensive experience in financial services compliance is essential.
