Data and Reporting Manager

£60K permanent - Maidenhead

We have a fantastic permanent opportunity to work with a major financial company who are looking for an experienced Data and Reporting Manager to join them in their office in Maidenhead. 

The primary responsibilities of the Data and Reporting Manager are to form and manage relationships, identify, plan, coordinate, and manage all activities related to the integration of data across various sources, in order to form an organized and unified view.

The role will be responsible for day to day reporting, data management, data strategy and the data landscape that underpins the business operations.

Location: Maidenhead

Candidates will be required to work Monday to Friday on a 37.5hr week working between 9am – 5:30pm candidates will have to work full time on3 days per week on site in Maidenhead and be comfortable with working from home 2 days per week

The rate on offer is 60K per annum plus benefits. 

The responsibilities of the Data and Reporting Manager can be broken down into five key areas

Data Strategy
  • To develop in line with the company’s strategic roadmap a data strategy that supports all of the business
  • Project management of the implementation of initiatives designed to support the data strategy.
  • Develop and execute a plan to maximize self-service capabilities for internal users and customers.
  • Implementing formal data governance approach and increasing the maturity of the enterprise data capability and environment.
Reporting
  • To ensure the production of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, together with automated consolidated views for business users. This includes company balanced scorecards, summarised performance views.
  • To ensure the availability of quality and timely data in line with business needs.
  • To ensure the data landscape is effective and fit for purpose, using appropriate technologies and tools.
  • To investigate and implement new data sources that enhance reporting and analysis activities
  • To ensure data is managed in a safe and secure manner and all data infrastructure is compliant and protected.
Managing relationships
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with all areas of the business, including shareholders, stakeholders, retailers, customers and relevant industry bodies and regulatory bodies, especially the FCA, ICO and other bodies
Continuous improvement
  • Continually evaluate the effectiveness of the function and seek to improve, investigate, research and implement new approaches and techniques, keeping abreast of changing environment, ensuring industry best practice is applied
  • Create and evaluate new alternatives in order to drive effectiveness and productivity of the function
  • Management of ongoing enhancements to support tactical and strategic initiatives.
Team management
  • Line management of two data analysts. To include the provision of support, personal and professional development as well as mentoring.

 

In order to be considered for this role you must have the following skills: 

  • Experience in project management methodologies such as AGILE and Prince2, as well as tools such as Microsoft Project and Jira
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate issues and change to colleagues in the business, whilst also having the skills and experience to work closely with technical teams
  • Experience of Organisational Change Management through running significant change initiatives
  • Understanding of data management principles
  • Knowledge of SQL, VBA and data extraction and manipulation methods
  • Knowledge and experience of reporting tools (Business Objects, Tableau, PowerBI, SAS)
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong prioritization and ability to deliver product improvement
  • Educated to Degree level or higher and/or equivalent
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Strong customer facing/service skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills including influencing skills
  • Experience of Python
